Elyor Nematov was born in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. He currently works as a freelance photojournalist and teacher of documentary photography workshops. In 2012, he received a grant from the Open Society Foundation’s Documentary Photography Project for a project about labour migration from Central Asia. He is currently working on a project about gender equality and women’s rights in Kyrgyzstan.

Elie Gardner is a visual journalist based in Istanbul, Turkey. She is a regular contributor to the Fuller Project for International Reporting and previously worked as a photographer and editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Oscar Durand is a Peruvian photographer and videographer. Oscar discovered visual storytelling by accident while studying industrial engineering in Lima. He then moved to the United States where he began his career as a freelance photojournalist. He is currently, he is based in Istanbul, Turkey working for news and humanitarian organizations.

Dean Sewell

Dean Sewell made his name as an independent documentary photographer concentrating on the social implications of the globalised world economy and the environmental consequences of climate change. His numerous awards include being Australian Press Photographer of the Year in 1994 and 1998, winner of Moran Contemporary Photography Prize in 2009 and 2010, and receiving three World Press Photo Awards, in 2000, 2002 and 2005.

Dana Romanoff is a visual anthropologist who uses still and motion imagery to tell stories. Her photography and films have won numerous awards, including being a Pulitzer Prize runner up. Her work has been exhibited around the globe and appeared in many publications, including National Geographic Magazine, GEO and The New York Times. Dana is represented by Getty Global Assignments.

Claudia Wiens

Claudia Wiens is a German photographer and author based in Seville, Spain. She previously lived and worked for ten years in Egypt and seven in Turkey. Her work has appeared in international publications, such as GEO, Stern, New York Times Magazine and The Guardian and she works frequently for a number of organisations, including UNICEF, GIZ and Johns Hopkins.

Christian Bobst

Christian Bobst, born in 1971 in Switzerland, studied graphic design and then worked for almost 15 years as an art and creative director for major advertising agencies in Switzerland and Germany before becoming a documentary photographer and photojournalist. From his base in Zürich, he covers stories around the world. In 2016 he was one of the prizewinners of the World Press Photo Awards.

Carsten Snejbjerg

Danish photojournalist Carsten Snejbjerg, born in 1966, became interested in photography during a 3,400-kilometre bicycle trip through China and Vietnam in 1997. He has since won several awards including the Grand Prix Care du Reportage Humanitaire (2010), first prize for POYi Issue reporting (2008) and several awards in the Danish Picture of the Year competition.

Bernice Wong

Bernice Wong, born in 1988, is a documentary photographer based in Singapore. In 2014, she was awarded top prize for “Themed Body of Work” as part of the CDL Singapore Young Photographer Award. She has since published her first photo book, School of Hard Knocks. Her work has also been selected to be part of the Asian Women Photographers’ Showcase hosted by Objectifs.

Antonio Aragón Renuncio

Antonio Aragón Renuncio has been involved with photography since the mid-1990s. He founded and chairs “Nostromo” Photographers Association (Spain), has been a university photography professor for more than fifteen years, and organises and directs the Photography Festival of Santander. He is the publisher of Xplorer Magazine (Nicaragua) and the general manager of Xtreme PhotoWS (Burkina Faso).
