Zoltán Balogh

Zoltán Balogh started teaching himself photography in 2006. In 2008 he was elected photographer of the year by the Hungarian National Association of Photographic Artist Groups and became a member of the Studio of Young Photographers. In 2009, he turned to freelance photography. Since then, his work has been exhibited around the world in exhibitions, magazines and books. In 2015, he joined MTI Hungarian News Agency as a photojournalist.

Xaume Olleros

Xaume Olleros is a Spanish-born photographer who started his photographic career after a four-year stint as a marketing manager in a Spanish bank. His work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, The Guardian, Newsweek and Time, among other publications. In 2016, he moved to Dakar in Senegal to report on west and east Africa.

Valerie Leonard

Born to American and French parents, Valerie Leonard has always been surrounded by a world of images. Her mother was a painter, and her father, Herman Leonard, was a photographer. When she presses the shutter, she remembers her father’s words: “Always tell the truth, but in terms of beauty.” Valerie looks to show the dignity of women and men, particularly in hostile environments.

Valerie Leonard is the second place winner of The Other Hundred Educators Edition.

Sudipto Das

Sudipto Das, since 2005, has worked as a principal photojournalist for The Times of India. He has also worked for Associated Press, European Press Photo Agency, BBC News, SPAN and India Today. He has received more than 130 international and national photo awards and recognitions and has exhibited his work widely in countries around the world.

Sofie Knijff

Sofie Knijff is a Dutch-Belgian photographer based in Amsterdam. Initially a student of theatre performance, her background in theatre continues to be reflected in her photographic work. Her recent artistic projects have received grants from the Mondrian Foundation and been shortlisted for the Unseen Photo Fair Dummy Award (2012), Mack Book Award (2013) and Best Photobook Award Kassel (2015).

Sélim Harbi

Sélim Harbi is a Tunis-born documentary photographer and multimedia storyteller whose work focuses on using visual experimentation to explore new storytelling techniques, subnarratives and contemporary issues. He is based between Tunis and West Africa. In 2013, he founded Afreekyama, the first pan-African collective dedicated to multimedia storytelling.

Samuel Zuder

Samuel Zuder lives in Hamburg. Besides his commissioned work as a freelance editorial and documentary photographer for international magazines, he has also worked on a number of personal photo projects, among them the book, Face to Faith | Mount Kailash | Tibet (2016). His work has been widely exhibited in exhibitions across Europe and Asia.

Reza Visual Academy

Since 1983, Reza has been a volunteer committed to training young people and women from conflictridden societies in the language of images. Since 2013, he has conducted workshops through his association, Reza Visual Academy. His recent work has included workshops at the Kawergosk refugee camp in Syria, and at the Kabarto and Arbat refugee camps near Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq.

Rebekah Bowman

Rebekah Bowman was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After completing a BA in German/ German literature at the University of Salzburg, she managed the UK-based Kreisler String Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss chamber orchestra. She then lived in Mexico and Scotland before returning to the US in 2008. Her most recent project, “Portrait of the Cuban School of Ballet”, explores ballet practice at the National Ballet School in Havana, Cuba.

Rebekah Bowman is the third place winner of The Other Hundred Educators Edition.

Rebecca Radmore & Elio Peña

Rebecca and Elio met while documenting a live music event in 2009. Since then they have worked together on projects and commissions around the globe. The two of them are experienced in many forms of photography and film, but most enjoy the art of visual storytelling, blending portraiture, journalism and long-term documentary work to reflect upon, question and celebrate our humanity.

Petar Kürschner is an award-winning photographer and film production manager. His work has appeared in GEO, Der Spiegel, Le Monde, Der Stern, Traveller, Gloss and many other publications. In the last couple of years, he has also worked as production manager, researcher and photographer for German-French documentary film organisation ARTE.
